Editorial Standards & Technical Review Policy

Editorial Governance & Verification Standards

ChemProCal is dedicated to providing process, chemical, and mechanical engineers with transparent, verified, and calculation-checked technical resources. All content, equations, and calculation engines published on ChemProCal adhere to rigorous technical review protocols governed by international engineering standards.

Technical Review Leadership

The technical content on ChemProCal is curated and verified by a Process Design Engineer with a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years of direct industrial experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) for the oil & gas, refining, and petrochemical sectors.

Our review process ensures that every engineering guide, thermodynamic discussion, and hydraulic formula published on the platform reflects real-world plant design constraints and accepted EPC standards.

Calculation Verification & Benchmarking Methodology

Unlike proprietary calculation tools, ChemProCal operates on an open-verification framework:

  • Standard Codes: Every tool references governing design codes, including API (API 520, API 521, API 526, API 14E), ASME (B31.3), Crane Technical Paper No. 410, and GPSA Engineering Data Books.
  • First-Principles Validation: New calculation engines are verified against manual hand calculations and benchmarked against standard commercial process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, or DWSIM).
  • Steam Formulations: Water and steam thermodynamic properties strictly adhere to the IAPWS-IF97 Industrial Formulation.

Continuous Peer Review & Discrepancy Reporting

We actively invite peer review from the global chemical engineering community. If you identify a typographical error, formula discrepancy, or suggest an empirical model enhancement, our engineering review panel addresses and validates submissions promptly:

  • Technical Corrections: support@chemprocal.com
  • Review Turnaround: Discrepancy reports are evaluated against standard hand calculations within 3–5 business days.
