Volume
What is Volume?
Volume is the three-dimensional space enclosed by a boundary. For process and reservoir engineers, volume is the primary metric for storage, inventory tracking, and batch processing capacities.
Volumetric conversions are highly searched for designing:
- Storage Tanks: Sizing atmospheric tanks for chemical storage or crude oil export.
- Reactor Sizing: Calculating the necessary volume to achieve target reaction residence times.
- Liquid Holdup: Designing the surge volume in the bottom of distillation columns and scrubbers.
